MESSAGE FROM THE COUNCIL GENERAL OF JAMAICA 2008
I am honored to be asked to provide this message and I extend heartiest congratu- lations to the Board of Directors, Corporate Partners and Members of the Cricket Hall of Fame, Connecticut, on the occasion of your annual induction ceremony and awards gala.
The Cricket Hall of Fame has the distinc- tion of being the only one of its kind in the United States of America. It is noted that your institution serves as a place of reference and education for the sport of cricket and the game of gentlemen.
Established some 3 decades ago, the Cricket Hall of Fame has overcome growing pains and developmental odds in its bold attempt to preserve and promote a sporting discipline that continues to unify CARICOM through our shared culture.
Having visited the facilities myself, I am truly amazed at the scope and substance of your effort over the years, and I take this opportunity to applaud the efforts of the general membership, past and present.
I express with confidence that history will record the unique and important role that your organization will have played in keeping the sport of cricket alive and in providing a tremendous camaraderie to a dedicated fraternity.
This year’s inductees join a most formidable team. Let’s wish for them another memorable inning at the Hall of Fame wicket. Continue to play well.
Best wishes for a successful event and God’s speed
