PATRICK HAMILTON NOMINATED TO CLASS OF 2026

                                                                        Patrick Hamilton

Patrick Hamilton
is honored for his lifelong dedication to the growth and development of cricket in the United States. Born in Jamaica in 1953, he developed a passion for the game at an early age and played junior cricket for Kingston College before emigrating to the United States in 1970. There, he became a respected player, wicketkeeper, and organizer within the sporting community.
Patrick played for three major cricket clubs in the United States. He began with the Sportsmen’s Club in the 1970s, where he established himself as a committed player. In the 1980s, he founded the Caribbean Tourers Cricket Club and served as its first president, organizing international tours and matches in Toronto, London, and Kingston. He later continued his playing career in South Florida with the Ambassadors Cricket Club.
A founding member of the Cricket Hall of Fame, Patrick has spent decades promoting cricket and expanding its reach nationwide. Among his cricketing highlights is the memorable experience of playing against the world champion Indian team in 1983, led by Sunil Gavaskar.

Beyond cricket, Patrick also devoted equal passion to soccer organization. In 1981, he played an instrumental role in forming an urban youth league of over two hundred boys and girls, a program that continues to serve the community to this day.
In recent years, Patrick has remained actively involved through his work with the Cricket Museum, including collaboration with the historic Staten Island Cricket Club, one of the oldest cricket clubs in the United States with a legacy spanning more than 150 years. Through these efforts, he continues to help preserve and share the history of cricket in America while advancing the vision of a mobile museum to bring the sport’s stories to communities across the country.
His ongoing work spans key cities including Atlanta, Miami, New York City, and Hartford, where he has worked closely with strong Caribbean communities to grow the game and strengthen its cultural roots.
Beyond his contributions to sport, Patrick is a devoted family man—the proud father of two daughters, Charisse Hamilton and Marisa Belgrave, and a loving grandfather to three granddaughters.
His passion, leadership, and vision have cemented his legacy as a key figure in American cricket and a deserving inductee into the Cricket Hall of Fame.
