Clarendon Jamaica – [January 13th 2025] – The West Indies Cricket Development Academy Limited (WICDA) is pleased to announce significant progress on its flagship project at Denbigh High School, a key initiative aimed at nurturing cricketing talent across the region. As of today, 85% of the project has been completed, including the installation of a concrete cricket pitch, batting nets, and chain-link fencing, marking a major milestone in the development of world-class training infrastructure.
The completed components now provide a safe and professional environment for young athletes to hone their skills. However, 15% of the project remains pending, with critical work still required to finalize the run-up area and install a protective covering for the training facility’s upper section. These elements are essential to ensuring the facility meets international standards and remains operational in all weather conditions.

“Denbigh High School is at the heart of cricketing development in our community, and we are committed to seeing this project through,” said [junior Codlin/a representative of WICDA. “Once funding is secured, we will immediately begin the final phase to deliver a fully functional training hub for the next generation of cricketers.”
The WICDA has long been dedicated to advancing cricketing opportunities across the Caribbean, and this facility underscores its mission to invest in grassroots development. Partners, donors, and supporters are invited to join in completing the project, ensuring lasting benefits for students and the broader cricket community.
