Leon Francis, President of Cricket Show USA, is Nominated for Class Of 2024

Leon B. Francis, resident of Crawfordville, Florida is the founder president of Cricket Show USA, not-for-profit organization, currently running Radio Shows, broadcasting cricket for last 13 plus years.  Additionally, Leon’s involvement in playing, promoting, and administrative duties in cricket and football began in Antigua and Barbuda, where he held several key positions, including as a selector for the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association.  More recently, Leon’s involvement continued as a panelist and commentator on the Cricket Show USA Radio broadcasts.

The cricket and football involvement as sports captain continued at the Princess Margaret Boys Primary School in St. John, Antigua. Most notably, He represented St. John’s Cricket Club, home club of Sir Viv Richards and Sir Richie Richardson. And later more involvement for the Antigua and Barbuda Sugar Factory, in both football and cricket.

He served as secretary and president of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association, and as a selector for the Antigua and Barbuda Cricket Association. Also served on the Antigua and Barbuda Sports Council, the governing body for sports in the islands.

In 1978 he migrated to the USA where he was the president and instrumental in the formation of the St. Georges Cricket Club, in New Jersey. As he also served as the club cricket captain in those early years.

In 1981, He relocated to Miami, where he volunteered as a cricket reporter to several local radio stations, and for the 15 years as he volunteered as a sports statistician to the Florida Caribbean SportsLine group.

The Cricket Show USA was launched in 2010, he is the founder and president of the online cricket Radio. The Cricket Show USA is now in its Fourteenth year, broadcasting for 3 hours on every Sundays & many other segments, Interviews, and other cricket related matters with the global audience & outreach, as Chief Executive and panelist for the show.

Jatin Patel Cricket Hall of famer with lifetime achievement award, nominated Leon Francis for his contribution and involvement in the cricket and sports for more than 65 years.

The Cricket Hall of Fame USA (CHoF) induction ceremony will be held on Saturday October 5, 2024, at the Sheraton Hotel, Bradley international Airport, Windsor Locks, Connecticut.
