K Viswanathan, Chief Executive Officer, Chennai Super Kings, Nominated Class 2023

Kallidaikuruchi S Viswanathan is the Chief Executive Officer of the Chennai Super Kings, a four-time champion in the Indian Premier League.  Fondly called as ‘Kasi Sir’ in the cricket fraternity, he has more than five+ decades of experience in cricket and administration, as he knows the game inside out and is one of the pillars of the franchise’s success.

He has held responsibilities in the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), IPL and the BCCI.

In his early days, he played both junior and senior cricket in Tirunelveli district. In the late 1960s, he was an integral part of the district team that won the SS Rajan Trophy, an inter-district tournament.

He was part of the Jolly Rovers team and has also played for various clubs, including Jai Hind, MRC A, and Prithvi.

After quitting the game in 1986, he ventured into cricket administration. He had been working in the cost department at India Cements. He has been associated with India Cements for almost over four decades. He worked in ICL Rolls upto 31st March 2015.

In 1989, Mr. N. Srinivasan handpicked KS Viswanathan to revive India Cements cricketing activities and get them back on track. This was the start of his wonderful career in cricket administration!

His journey with CSK

From 01-Apr-2015 he was with CSK as CEO (Chief Executive Officer)

11-Feb-2016 he moved from CSK to ICL as Consultant

From 19th Jan 2018 he moved from ICL to CSK and was appointed as CEO of CSK
